BROADWEIGH INTRODUCES WIRELESS HAND-HELD DISPLAY STANDARD
Broadweigh has launched the Wireless Hand-Held Display Standard (BW-HK-S), a powerful new tool for riggers and technicians working in the high-pressure world of live production. Fully compatible with Broadweigh’s trusted wireless ecosystem, the BW-HK-S delivers instant, on-the-ground access to real-time load and environmental data — keeping crews connected to what matters most, when it matters most.
Designed with the challenges of arenas, festivals, and theatres in mind, the device can receive live data from up to 12 wireless load cells or anemometers at once. Housed in a rugged IP67-rated enclosure with a high-grip finish, it’s ready for the toughest working conditions—whether you’re crawling through a grid in a dark theatre or working FOH at a stadium show.
Tom Lilly, Product Manager at Broadweigh, said: “The BW-HK-S enhances our system by giving production teams an intuitive, reliable handheld interface that works wherever they are. It builds on our trusted wireless technology and streamlines the process of accessing real-time load data—helping crews make fast, safe decisions.”
Designed specifically for live production environments, the BW-HK-S features an integrated multi-sensory warning system. A flashing screen grabs attention when load thresholds are reached, a built-in alarm ensures warnings are heard even in noisy environments, and a vibration alert offers silent notification for operators working away from the display. With an extended wireless range of up to 800 metres and remote firmware updates, the unit is future-ready and adaptable across a wide range of productions.
Whether handheld or mounted for permanent monitoring at a rigging control point, the BW-HK-S slots seamlessly into any Broadweigh setup. Its customisable interface keeps critical data front and centre, while hidden menus unlock advanced functionality when needed—offering both simplicity and power in one device.
Matthew Youngs, Sales Manager at Broadweigh, commented: “The BW-HK-S isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a step-change in how teams manage safety and efficiency during live events. From rigging and lighting to sound and stage management, everyone benefits from having real-time data at their fingertips. It’s built for the pace and pressure of the job.”
